POETRY CENTRAL Poets Mentoring Opportunities - 7 Jan

Mentoring Opportunities -

Poetry Central is offering a unique opportunity to Eight writers who would like to develop their poetry writing practice with the support of a mentor.

· Maybe you are an experienced poet who would like to put a manuscript together to send to a specialist publisher.
· Perhaps you're a performance poet wishing to explore new ways of engaging with an audience.
· It could be you have just begun to write and want help and advice about a range of issues relating to writing poetry.

Whatever your particular need we will endeavour to pair selected writers with an appropriate mentor. The project will allow you to specify your needs and negotiate a programme of activity to suit you. Your mentor will be given a pool of hours to work with you, this can happen by e-mail, face-to-face working, telephone, work-shadowing – whatever is the right fit between you and your mentor. The work could be completed in a matter of weeks or over a number of months.

If you are successful you will receive more detailed information about the project.

Criteria for Selection

Please send an application, which includes specific proposals detailing what you would like to gain from the scheme, details of your experience as a writer and your writing ambitions.
